Tab Trade — The Short Version
Tab Trade launched in Q1 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Prior to TabTrade, he was in leadership at BlackBull Markets, an New Zealand-regulated broker.
That last detail is relevant. It means the founder has actually done this before. Does not guarantee anything. It is better than a random name you cannot trace.
TabTrade came out of the gate with execution through Equinix servers. Same data centres institutional desks use. Usually a new brokerage leads with marketing and bonuses. Tab Trade led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.
The instrument list: FX, indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. 1,000+. For a platform this new, that range is solid.
The Software
You get: MetaTrader 5, cTrader by Spotware, and a browser platform. Both platforms from one account. Most brokers commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Getting both makes a difference. Use whichever you prefer.
MT5 is what most people know. Full charting, automated trading, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have traded on a MetaQuotes platform previously, it is familiar territory.
cTrader is the cleaner option. Better DOM. More responsive charts. Built-in algo trading. Many people find it more natural after using both.
FIX API is offered for automated strategies but needs the VIP account ($25,000 deposit). TradingView is reportedly in the works. That should make the platform set when it lands.
Accounts and Pricing
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Zero commission. Easy to track. No minimum deposit. Suits anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge account. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Commission of $3.50 each way. What you actually pay: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On majors, the actual interbank spread is often under 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost sometimes sits below 0.5 pips. That is cheap for a broker with no minimum deposit. Most platforms that have spreads this tight want $500 or more to open. Tab Trade does not.
VIP account. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, faster fills, custom pricing. Not something most retail traders. Do not worry about it unless you trade institutionally.
Infrastructure
The execution is the thing this broker separates from most new launches. Equinix LD4/LD5. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Sub-20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. Most retail brokers operate at 100ms to 300ms.
Should you care? If you scalp, absolutely. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you trade higher timeframes, you will not notice. But the fact that the setup is serious. That signals something about priorities.
Pair that infrastructure with the Edge account pricing and the total package makes sense. Not many platforms at this price point offer execution like this.
Regulation
This is the part that requires honesty. The broker is under the FSRA in Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No FCA. No investor compensation scheme. If the lack of tier-1 regulation makes you uncomfortable, this broker is not for you. There are ASIC-licensed brokers out there.
However. Benjamin Boulter came from BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The execution setup costs real money. Dodgy operations do not invest in proper execution infrastructure. This does not make it safe. It does factor into your decision.
The trade-off: you give up tier-1 protection. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether this deal makes sense depends on you.
